Bone marrow is a substance found inside the
cavity of bones. In early life it produces
red blood cells but later on fat accumulate
and its colour changes from red to yellow.
Bone marrow may be transplanted in the
treatment of some diseases, such as
leukaemia, using immunosuppressive drugs in
the recipient to prevent rejection.
